Despite major pollution problems during the past 15 years of high industrial growth, China is making great strides in sustainable energy, green initiatives and research, leading most countries world-wide.

This tour will provide an opportunity to see some of these initiatives first hand, as well as talking to Chinese research scientists, policy planners and officials implementing these initiatives.

The Australia China Friendship Society conducted the tour that was supported by Friendship Associations in Beijing and Shanghai.  It was led by the National President of the ACFS, Dr. Ross Gwyther, who has had extensive experience in research earth sciences.
